Do – apply witch hazel gel to the treated area 3 times in the 24-48 hours following treatment.
Do – apply Aloe Vera gel twice a day between treatments to maintain moisture levels. This can be replaced with Environ AVST creams.
Do – if your skin feels hot after treatment; bathe with a cold or iced salt water solution regularly in the hours following treatment, this reduces inflammation and speeds up the healing process. (Add half a teaspoon of salt to 1 cup (250ml) of boiling water and chill.)
Do – apply sun protection daily to prevent sunlight interfering with the healing process. The best method for this is to use Jane Iredale mineral make-up as this won’t cause any irritation to the skin and also works as an anti-inflammatory.
Do not – touch the area with your fingers.
Do not – pick any spots that may appear, sometimes small pinprick crusts may appear and it is important they are not removed from the skin sooner than the natural process would allow.
Do not – wear make-up (except Jane Iredale mineral make-up) on the area if any crusts or spots appear.
Do not – Expose the skin to Sun, Sunlight or Sunbeds for 2 weeks after treatment. If you are having an intensive course we recommend that you avoid sun exposure on the are for the duration of the course of treatment. We appreciate that it can be difficult so we recommend using strong sun protection and the use of Jane Iredale mineral make-up to act as a good sunblock on the area.
Do not – pluck the hairs in between treatments as this interferes with the growth cycle ond strengthens the hair. The best method for managing the hair growth is to trim them back, or shave if absolutely necessary, ensuring that you have left enough time for them to be long enough for your next treatment.
Do not – swim for 48 hours after treatment.
