Sarah is trained in Holistic Medical Massage, which is recognised as a form of advanced massage therapy. Remedial techniques are used to reduce specific pain issues. To identify problem areas, we use a ‘listening touch’ and communication. We then treat them using a variety of techniques, including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, hot and cold stones, deep tissue, and stretching. Massages are performed slowly and deeply, depending on your tolerance level.
For best results 6 weekly sessions
50 to 60 minutes
Dependant of individual tolerance, but no higher than 7/10
May feel some discomfort for up to 2 days
After completion of 6 sessions, but regular maintenance may be required for some conditions.
We may use some or all of the following techniques within your treatment:
Trigger point massage therapy is designed to diminish the source of the specific pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. This type of massage means you will actively participate through deep breathing and communicating the exact location and intensity of the discomfort. A trigger point or muscle ‘knot’ is a sensitive area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. A trigger point in the back, for example, may produce pain in the neck. Subsequently, the neck acting as an associated trigger point may then cause pain in the head. The pain may be sharp and intense or equally, a dull but uncomfortable ache.
Our therapy includes targeted rubbing and pressing on these trigger points. We can relieve the discomfort you are experiencing with exceptional results even after just a single treatment. We would, however, suggest regular therapy to help while you manage ongoing pain conditions. Come and talk to our therapists about the best way we can help you.
Myofascial release is a therapeutic massage that gently manipulates the fascia. Fascia is the tough, connective tissue that covers the body like a web stretching from head to toe. Trauma, habitual poor posture, and inflammation can create a binding down of fascia. This can result in excessive pressure on your nerves, muscles, blood vessels, osseous structures (bones), as well as your organs. Restrictions within the fascial system can occur after surgery, falls, excessive scar tissue formation, and even stress. If left untreated, the tightened fascia can lead to increased pain, headaches, and postural changes in addition to decreased motion.
We can help with many conditions including lower back pain, headaches, TMJ (temporomandibular jaw), neck pain, frozen shoulder, fibromyalgia, scar tissue, RSI injuries, and many more. Our treatments are completely bespoke because we tailor them to your needs. Are you in need of relief from pain or are you finding your movement is becoming restricted? Or perhaps you just simply want some special time to destress and revive yourself? Come in and speak with one of our therapists, then we can talk about the best massage for you.

“It’s a miracle!! It’s the 21st April and this is the third day that I have not woken up with a headache or a twitchy eye. I’m so pleased! You may remember, I had neuralgia back in December which affected my left eye along with the teeth in my lower jaw. I began taking vitamin B which helped a lot but I still had the twitchy eye most of the time. Unfortunately, this even affected my vision. The dentist found nothing wrong with my teeth and after three months, I thought I had a permanent problem with the nerves on the left side of my face. In fact, I did recognise that I had a weakness on that side of my face due to neuralgia flair-ups. However, the massage work you did on the front and back of my neck, has made a huge difference. It’s a relief to know that your expertise has helped prevent me from suffering prolonged discomfort, and therefore, it will continue to be something that I look forward to. I was a shy, nervous and reluctant client to start with. But your support, caring nature and knowledgeable approach has made a big difference to my general well-being.”
