What is Accor Plasma Pen?
ACCOR NF+ stands for Aesthetic Cosmetic Corrector Plasma Pen. This hand-held device emits a small electrical arc from the tip of the pen without actually touching the skin. This plasma arc vaporises the skin giving an immediate tightening effect to the surrounding skin. These small points form scabs that drop off over the following week post treatment revealing a smoother and tighter skin.
What makes the Accor treatment different from other plasma pen treatments?
Accor is the first low frequency plasma device. This means that it gives a shallower but wider impact on the skin, causing less trauma as it doesn’t penetrate too deeply, but still very effective treatment due to its wider pattern.
What can it treat?
Skin that requires tightening and lifting, pigmentation and age spots and skin tags.
Where can it treat?
We can treat anywhere on the body, within reason, that requires skin tightening and pigmentation removal including:
Is it painful?
We’re not going to lie here, because we want to let you know what to expect so that an informed decision can be made. Topical anaesthesia is applied to the area to be treated for an hour prior to treatment (except in cases of small skin tags and pigmentation). This does help take a lot of the impact off the treatment, and the rest is down to your own pain threshold and where the treatment is applied. Some areas of the body (eg forehead) are more sensitive that others. On the whole though it is generally comfortable.
How long does a treatment take to perform?
It depends on the size of the area that we are treating, it could be as quick as 15 mins or as long as an hour. We can advise you on consultation.
Do I need to take time off work after the treatment?
It depends on the area that has been treated and how self-conscious you are. Personally, I choose to get on with life as normal as I can’t afford to hide away, but that’s not for everyone. We can conceal the treated area well, but it can’t be hidden completely.
So, what can I expect from a treatment?
You will be booked in with either Rita or Sarah
We will perform an initial consultation and go through everything with you about what to expect, results you can hope to achieve, assessing area(s) that require treatment as well as checking your medical history. On this appointment we also perform a patch test.
The consultation and patch test takes place at least 3 weeks before the treatment.
On the treatment itself you will arrive at the salon and the anaesthetic cream is applied approximately 1 hour before the treatment is performed to give it optimum time to work. You can just lie there and relax during this time. We will already have assessed how we are performing the treatment, but we will look again and ensure that this is still the correct treatment path. We then carry out the treatment, ensuring that you are comfortable throughout.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on the severity of the condition being treated and the results that you want to achieve. We also have to factor in lifestyle and how you are currently looking after your skin. Sometimes one treatment can be enough, sometimes 2 or 3. We can advise you at the point of consultation what we would expect.
Can I have plasma treatments if I have botox or fillers?
You can have the treatment in the time leading up to having these procedures done, but we can’t treat for at least 3 or 4 months after. Why? Because these will artificially disguise the wrinkles. We need to be able to see them to be able to effectively perform a treatment.
How experienced are you at Accor plasma pen treatments?
Rita and Sarah have been performing these treatments for a year now with great success. Sarah is now a National trainer for Accor plasma pen due to her skill and experience. Both Rita and Sarah have over 55 years of experience in the skin industry and working with precision treatments between them and therefore you are in very safe hands.
I don’t normally do much with my skin, but now feel that this might be great for skin ageing. Will this help me?
Yes of course! However, with all skin treatments we recommend you look at the bigger picture. All skincare brands that are found on the high street are classed as cosmetics, so basically that means that they won’t absorb into the deeper layers of the skin. We recommend cosmeceutical or pharmaceutical brands that you will only be prescribed by skin experts. This means that they have the science behind them and that they will absorb into deeper layers and really bring about results to your skin at a cellular level. With all skin treatments, to get the best results and create strong skin health, we need to be looking at the bigger picture to really bring about transformations. The stronger the skin the better the results will be.
Are there any side effects?
The main risk is pigmentation from the treatment. However, we always patch test everyone prior to treatment to see how the skin responds and carry out a thorough consultation so these are really minimised. Any pigmentation issues would only be temporary.
Is this the best treatment for pigmentation?
We’ve just been talking about it possibly bringing about pigmentation, however this is a great treatment for age spots and small pigmentation patches. Is it the best treatment? For small patches, yes, but for larger areas then we need to be looking at SSR or peels.
I hear that this also removes skin tags, is this correct?
Yes, this can remove skin tags really effectively. However, Sarah has also been working with advanced electrolysis for 30 years, and on a personal level finds advanced electrolysis a much easier and less aggressive treatment for skin tags.
